What's the difference between Collect Modules, Forms and Buttons?

They all facilitate taking payment via your HubSpot pages, but function slightly differently. Here's an overview of the categories of Collect products and when they're typically used.

First, it's important to establish what the three categories of Collect products are, before getting into the nitty-gritty of options within them.

Top-level definitions:

  • Collect Modules: These allow you to take payment directly on a HubSpot page. On the face of it, they appear to look like a regular HubSpot form but the Collect Module brings the third-party checkout inside your HubSpot page. This is the smoothest checkout experience.
  • Collect Forms: Again, these look like a regular HubSpot form. The difference is that each form has the ability to link to a unique checkout URL which opens in a new window. This means you can collect customer details next to your product - removing one step from the typical checkout process.
  • Collect Buttons: These look like HubSpot CTAs. Instead, they're integrated with Stripe and take the customer to a unique checkout page, which opens in a new window.
