Meerkat stands up against the competition

A year ago, Meerkat was merely a concept in hibernation but Spring is here and it’s beady eyes widened at trendy Tex fest, South by Southwest (SXSW.)

Tweeting tech-heads and the intrigued media were itching to catch a glimpse of the latest app sensation.


The unique streaming video app stands apart from Snapchat and Vine because it allows users to broadcast their footage live.

Your own video (not too personal!) can be live tweeted to your followers who can comment on what they see and hear.

It’s intuitive with only two options; start a stream now or schedule for later and once started, a tweet will notify all of your followers.

There are currently 300,000 users including US celebrities Snoop Dogg and Jimmy Fallon, who has been seen using it on his chatshow.

The company is clearly picking up pace and profit, Meerkating is already the verb of choice will no doubt be as ubiquitous in conferences and events as live tweeting.
