It’s safe to say that Luke and Rikki have a shared love of eCommerce. They appreciate it’s easy with eCommerce to know when you’ve made a difference with a decision that’s been made. You can pinpoint what’s working, what isn’t and make adjustments based on those findings.
The key to eCommerce success lies in providing a good user experience. Take a website’s internal search function, for example. How much thought have you put into optimising this experience for users?
Luke tells the story of a retailer who received thousands of internal searches for ‘Black Friday’. There were no results for this search within the website, leaving the user frustrated and looking elsewhere. Luke recommends always checking the most popular internal search terms and creating content around them, even if it isn’t something you offer.
It’s always better to suggest an alternative than leave a user without any answers. This makes the journey a whole lot simpler for the user and prevents them from searching with your competitors instead.
Make sure to watch the video above for the full episode for all of Luke’s useful tips and tricks when it comes to running an eCommerce website.
